Nurse's Corner:
There is a full-time school nurse at Carver Intermediate.  the school nurse is here to help your child in many different ways.  Some of the types of care that school nurse provide are vision and hearing, testing, height and weight screening, care for the sick and injured, self health care, management of chronic health problems, administration of medication, medical treatments as prescribed by a doctor, and assistance with referrals as needed for medical and social concerns.

A few special rules:
1. Children are not allowed to bring any type of medicine to school at any time.  Adults must transport all medicine to and from school.
2. All medicine including over the counter medication such as Tylenol needs to have a doctor's note.
3. Parents must let the school nurse know of any health concerns.
4. Children who are ill need to stay home to get better.  This means home for 24 hours after the last time they have a fever (100.6), vomit, or have diarrhea.
5. If your child is going to be out for an extended amount of time (over two days) for illness or injury, please call the school nurse.  In certain cases, the school can provide homebound services to help make sure your child does not fall behind in class.
