Auto Service Technology I is a one-year, three-credit course in which students are taught the basic knowledge and skills needed to inspect, diagnose, and repair gasoline engines used in modern automotive vehicles. Instruction is given in the theory and skills relating to engine rebuilding and repair, automotive electrical and electronic systems, automotive oscilloscope diagnostics, tune-up, and heating and air conditioning. The National Institute certifies this program for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
