Upon completion of Computer Systems Technology I, students may enroll in Computer Systems II, a one-year, three-credit weighted course that prepares students to pass the A+ Operating System Examination. The exam measures essential competencies for anentry-level IT professional or PC service technician with the equivalent knowledge of at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. The A+ Operating System Exam will require a student to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary in operating Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. The test will cover operating system fundamentals, installation, configuration and upgrading, diagnosing and troubleshooting and basic networks.
