Mrs. Tracy Cioppa - PrincipalMrs. Tracy Cioppa

Mrs. Cioppa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in History from Houghton College in upstate New York and a Master’s Degree from Old Dominion University in Administration and Educational Leadership.  Mrs. Cioppa has served Chesapeake Public Schools for the past 14 years as an assistant principal as well as the assistant principal for instruction at Indian River High School and a previous administrative appointment at Hickory High School.   The PTSA honored Mrs. Cioppa with the 2015-2016 Administrator of the Year award as well as a life time membership award in 2014.  Additionally, Mrs. Cioppa taught Civics and Economics at Oscar Smith Middle School where she was also awarded recognition as their Teacher of the Year.  Prior to serving the students of Chesapeake Public schools, she taught third grade for 2 years in a neighboring school division. 

Mrs. Cioppa is married to Jeffrey Cioppa and they are proud parents of a son, Daniel, who is entering the first grade.  She believes in providing the same quality education that she expects for her own child.  Her goal is to assist families in developing a strong educational foundation for their children, encourage a love for and an involvement in school, and prepare students for middle and high school.   Mrs. Cioppa is very excited to serve as the principal at Cedar Road Elementary.  She seeks to accomplish these goals through collaborative efforts with her instructional staff and the community and through her compassion, high expectations, and enthusiasm.


Mrs. Micheal Ottley - Assistant PrincipalMrs. Michael Trott 

Mrs. Ottley earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Radford University and her Master of Arts in Education and Human Development at The George Washington University. This is her fifth year as the assistant principal at Cedar Road Elementary. Prior to becoming an administrator, she served as a teacher at Treakle Elementary and Great Bridge Intermediate, as well as an Instructional Specialist for Title I schools. She has completed 16 years as an educator with Chesapeake Public Schools, but was also a student with the division for her K-12 education.

Mrs. Ottley is blessed to be married to Jason, a physical education teacher with Chesapeake Public Schools. They have two little boys Jack (age 9) and Jesse (age 6). Mrs. Ottley loves contributing back to the school division that helped mold who she is today. She is a passionate advocate, motivator, and cheerleader for the children at Cedar Road Elementary!
