| Welcome to the CMS Orchestra! Rising sixth
graders may elect to join the orchestra. We will be studying the violin,
viola, cello, and bass. Sixth graders may switch instruments, if
they choose to do so. This year, the true experience
of orchestra begins! We will form a complete ensemble that will play
together over the next three years. It takes different students,
playing together, to form an orchestra.
There are two Orchestras at Crestwood Middle. We
have our Sixth Grade Orchestra and our Seventh and Eighth Grade Combined
Orchestra. As a member of the CMS orchestra program, you will have
many opportunities to share your talent with others, through performance.
As member of your orchestra, you will participate in a minimum of two concerts.
Seventh and Eighth graders will have the opportunity to perform at the
District IV Orchestra Festival and Pre- Festival Concerts. Seventh
and eighth graders will also have the opportunity to audition for Regional
Orchestra. Sixth and Seventh graders may be selected to represent
our school as a member of the All City Orchestra. All of these performance
opportunities offer us a wonderful way to represent Crestwood Middle.
