Students at Crestwood Middle School participate in a variety of extracurricular activities to enrich and enhance their overall school experience.

Activities
Art Club Students who are seriously interested in art or students who did not get to take Art Class. Painted backdrops for the Drama Club.  Created murals, masks, and other art projects.
C.H.R.O.M.E. Club
(Cooperating Hampton Roads Organizations for Minorities in Engineering)
Students interested in mathematical, science, or technical careers. Field trips, speakers, and hands-on activities.
Debate Team Students interested in debate.
(Requires try-out)
Researches and debates a national policy topic.  Participates in City Debate tournament.
Destination Imagination Teams Students interested in engineering and problem solving.
Students interested in creative thinking skills and improvisation.
Participates in local, state, and world competitions.
Forensics Team Students interested in public speaking.
(Requires try-out)
Competes in poetry, prose, and original oratory.  Participates in City Forensics Tournament.
Geography Club Any student interested in geography. Participates in computer games and other learning activities to enhance geography skills.  Participates in Geography Bee.
SCA (Student Council Association) All students are members of the SCA.  Each homeroom elects one representative to attend the meetings. Serves the school and the community.  Activities include selling concessions at home sporting events, reading morning announcements, planning Spirit Week, collecting for the United Way, and conducting a canned food drive.
Sport Teams Students have the opportunity to try out for various sports teams. Crestwood teams compete in the Chesapeake Middle School League.
Steel Drum Band Students interested in playing steel drums.  (Requires try-out) Performs at many school and community events.
Step Team Students interested in learning the African art of stepping.
(Requires try-out)
Performs at athletic events, pep rallies, assemblies, and other community events.
Teen Living Club  7th and 8th graders who are taking or have taken a Teen Living Class. Work on sewing, cooking and baking projects.
Yearbook Staff Chosen from students interested in designing and writing the school's yearbook. Chooses pictures, writes captions, interviews coaches, and attends school events.
