Course Description:
Spanish 1 provides a foundation for the advanced study of the Spanish language through listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.  Students build a working vocabulary, learn correct syntax and grammar, engage in conversational dialogs and  translate short passages.  Studying geography, history, and the Hispanic influence on music, food, and dance enhances the learning experience for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.  Structural elements of the Spanish language are first explained and then illustrated in a series of hands-on activities.
