Thank you for stopping at our Homepage. Deep Creek Elementary is a
K-5 school in the Chesapeake Public School system. Our school is located
in the city of Chesapeake, which is in the Southeastern part of
Virginia, also known as Hampton Roads.
Our school is dedicated to educating students in a positive, safe,
caring, and challenging environment. We understand our roles as
educators and realize that we establish the foundation for learning for
all of our students. We believe in community involvement and encourage
our parents and members of our community to take an active part in
educating our students.

| DCE Teachers of the
Year |
Mrs. Buschert, a third grade teacher, has been named the
2009-2010 DCE Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Buschert has
been teaching for 6 years and grew up in Pennsylvania.
She is a fantastic teacher who makes learning come alive for her
students. Mrs. Buschert will be honored in the Spring
(March 25th) at
the annual Teacher of the Year award ceremony (at Deep Creek
High School).
Our Reading Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Black. Mrs.
Black is a first grade teacher who has been teaching for 11
years. She taught in Florida and Georgia prior to teaching
in Chesapeake. She is a member of the Chesapeake Reading Council
and is dedicated to helping her student improve their reading
levels. |

Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year |
Congratulations to Mr. Triolet who has been selected the 2009
VAHPERD Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Triolet has been teaching at DCE for 14 years. He will
receive the Teacher of the Year Award at the VAHPERD Conference
in November. Mr. Triolet's passion for physical education,
health, and wellness is very evident. His leadership,
commitment to excellence, and passion have a positive impact on
all students at Deep Creek Elementary. |
