Beginning in the year 2010-2011, the federal government is requiring that all school divisions use new ethnic/race codes, giving parents/guardians more flexibility in identifying their child's ethnic background.
To begin transition to the new coding system, we are asking schools to survey their parents/guardians beginning in March 2010. Forms will be sent home from your child's school on March 12. At this time parents/guardians will be asked to update their child's ethnicity and return the completed form the next school day.
If you have any questions concerning this new
requirement, please contact the Guidance Department at 558-4509.
