Special Summer Hours
Chesapeake Schools will operate on a 4-day work week from June 22-Aug 7. Facilities will be open from 7:30am-5:00pm, except during the week of June 29th, when normal operating hours will resume due to the 4th of July Holiday observed on July 3.

New Student Enrollment
| Registration for the 2009 – 2010
school year will be done by appointment over the summer.
Please call our guidance department, 757-558-4509, to
set up an appointment. New students are required to
present the following documents upon enrollment: Proof of Residence - Current Utility Bill, either Gas, Electric or Water, dated within 30 days of enrollment Immunization Record Original Birth Certificate Report Card/Withdrawal Form from Previous School Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), if applicable Legal Custody Papers, if applicable If transferring from a public school in the state of Virginia, please bring SOL scores. |

SCA National Student Councils Association Gold Council of Excellence Award
Congratulations to the the SCA for winning the National Student Councils Association Gold Council of Excellence Award. Grassfield was one of only four schools in the state to win this award and the only one in the Eastern Region.

Summer School Information
Summer school will begin on Monday, June 22. Classes meet from
8:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Schools will be
closed on Fridays. Graduation for all three summer school centers
will be held August 11, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in the Indian River High
School auditorium. Limited bus transportation will be provided.
Fees for Chesapeake residents are $150 for four-week courses and
$300 for eight-week courses. A list of courses offered at each site
will be sent to all of the high schools on or before May 1.
Registration will begin on May 1. The courses will be offered only
if there is sufficient enrollment.
