The Extended Day Program has been established to help students who could fail courses due to absences. A student may redeem a maximum of four (4) days per course during a term. A student may redeem one class for one extended day period. Students who have excessive absences and have not attended any extended day programs may not be considered for extenuating circumstances by the Principal. The extended day period will be from 3:50 - 5:20 in Room 233, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A student will not be permitted to enter the extended day period late. In order to receive credit for the extended day, the student must remain in the session the entire time working on school work that they have brought with them.

Rules for Extended Day Program:

1. Students MUST BE ON TIME.  Students will enter before the clock has turned to 3:50 pm.  No student will be allowed to enter late.  Extended day ends at 5:20 pm.  If a student should leave before 5:20 pm they will not receive credit for the time they were in Extended Day.

2. Each student entering extended day must have an admittance slip from the teacher for whom he/she is making up time.

3. All students must bring schoolwork to do for the entire time they are in extended day.  There will be no sleeping, talking, etc.

4. No food or drinks will be allowed in the room.  Please finish all food and drinks before reporting to Extended Day.

5. All school rules will be enforced during Extended Day.  There will be no CD players, iPods, cell phones, etc.  allowed in the class.  These will be confiscated and turned in to the administration.  Dress code information is provided in the student handbook.

6. The Extended Day program is a privilege.  Any student who cannot follow the rules will be asked to leave.  Students who are told to leave will not get any credit for time spent in the program that day.

7. Students will be allowed to make up work from teachers; however make-up tests must be given to Mrs. Hing-Hickman by the teacher with a MAKE-UP form attached.
