Hickory High School will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Offices will be closed daily from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Additionally Hickory will be open on the following Fridays:

  • July 9

  • August 13

  • August 20


Survey of Parents of School-Aged Children Who Receive Special Education Services in Virginia

All parents of school-aged children and youth who receive special education services in Virginia are encouraged to complete the Parent Involvement Survey.  The survey will be available online through September 30, 2010.  The survey will be posted in English and Spanish and can be found online at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Parent-Involvement-2010E.

  • Hickory High School graduation for the 2009-2010 school year will be Friday, June 18, 2010, 3:00 pm, at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

School Picture Schedule 2010 - 2011

  • Seniors

    • The deadline for Senior Picture is November 30, 2010.

    • Rising seniors will receive an appointment card in the mail, during the summer, from Lifetouch with a sitting time scheduled.

    • Senior portraits, at HHS are scheduled for 7/6, 7/7, and 7/8.  Make-ups senior portraits are scheduled for 8/9 and 8/10.

    • Students and their parents will need to decide whether they want their appointment, whether they would like to reschedule, or whether they would like to use a different studio.

    • Students and their parents may choose any studio they wish for their portrait, but it is the student's responsibility to make sure that his/her portrait is submitted to the yearbook no later than November 30, 2010.

  • Sept. 27 (senior make-ups)

  • Sept. 28 & 29 (underclassmen)

  • Oct. 28 (underclassmen make-ups)

  • Nov. 23 (club pictures)


Athletic Season Pass Information

Beginning the 2010 - 2011 school year the athletic department will be offering sports season passes. There will be a variety of passes to fit everyone’s need. By purchasing a season pass you will save an average of 65% off of the regular ticket price. As a student if you were to attend every athletic event in the fall and winter it would cost you $244.00. If you purchase a pass you could attend the same games for $40.00. You do the MATH. At $6.00 a game if you attend all football games and four volleyball games the pass is paid for and you attend the rest of the games for FREE.   • Family Athletic Event Pass: for a maximum of five members of a household. (K-12) Good for all 2010-11 home sporting events (excluding tournaments). BEST DEAL!   Value: $992.00     Price: $150.00

  • Student Athletic Event Pass: for Hickory High School students. Good for all home 2010-11 sporting events.     Value: $244.00      Price: $40.00

  • Football “Season Only” Pass: Admits one to all 2010 Varsity and Junior Varsity home football games.     Value: $66.00      Price: $30.00

  • Basketball “Season Only” Pass: Admits one to all 2010-11 Boy’s or Girl’s Varsity and Junior Varsity home basketball games.     Value: $120.00      Price: $40.00

  • Volleyball “Season Only” Pass: Admits one to all 2010-11 Varsity and Junior Varsity home volleyball games (boys and girls).     Value: $54.00      Price: $35.00

  • The parking registration deadline has passed. People who apply for parking will now be placed on a waiting list. The remaining parking spaces will be assigned on the basis of availability.

  • Only seniors are guaranteed a parking decal (if available). Of juniors who apply for parking, those enrolled in the work program receive first priority.

  • Please retain a copy of the Hickory High School Student Parking 2009-10 information packet and application for your records.
