GOAL

The mission of HHS media center is to ensure that student and staff are lifelong users of ideas and information.  The media staff desires to support all aspects of the curriculum and believes that the media program is a cooperative venture in which library media specialists, teachers, administrators, and students work together to provide opportunities for learning.

The library media center collection includes:

• 18,500 books                       

• 2,500 reference books

• 32 magazines

• Local newspaper

• 20 computer stations

• 4 laptop carts

• 2 SmartBoards

 

COMPUTER NETWORK RESOURCES

• Accelerated Reader - a reading motivational program designed to enhance reading comprehension.

• College Choices - an occupational program that includes military careers, industries, careers for individuals with disabilities, apprenticeships, and training programs.

• On-Line Computerized Catalog - a computerized program used to locate resources in the library media center.

• Discovering Authors - biographical, bibliographical and critical information on the most studied world authors.

• UXL Biographies - biographical information on historical and contemporary figures.
