Clinic

The school clinic is operated by the school nurse every day. The nurse is available to the students for medical questions and emergencies. It is the nurse's responsibility to screen all students entering Norfolk Highlands Primary School. She also has certain testing requirements for vision and hearing as set up by the Chesapeake Nursing Services Department. Remember, our nurse is not a physician and does not diagnose. She refers you to the appropriate health official.

Message from Nurse Scarper:
As the school nurse, I am here to assist your children with any medical issues that might impact their learning. I am a registered nurse with seventeen years of experience in school nursing. Dispensing medications, performing hearing and vision screenings, administering first aid, and referring parents to physicians when the children become ill are just a few of my many functions. If you have any questions or concerns in regard to your children, please contact me by calling 578-7092 Monday through Friday between 7:20 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. I will be happy to assist you in ensuring the safety and well-being of your children.

J. Scarper, RN, BSN
School Health Advisor
