Morning
Announcements
Each
morning, our third graders bring the announcements to us
over the Media Retrieval System. They are on camera
for the whole school to see inside their classrooms!
They tell us what is for lunch, and also lead us in the
Pledge of Allegiance and the Moment of Silence. Our
second graders tell us the weather forecast for the day,
and suggest whether or not we should wear our coats
outside at recess.
Also, our
guidance counselor, Mrs. Meyers, starts our morning off by
giving us a character thought for the day. One
example might be, "your character is determined by
who you really are inside yourself. You control the
kind of person that you want to be! No one else can
do that for you!"
Our
principal, Dr. Hutchens, informs us of any student or
staff birthdays for the day or weekend. On Fridays, she
announces students who have been "Caught Being
Good" that week. These are students who have
performed a kind act or good deed that week, and were
spotting doing so by a teacher. Dr. Hutchens also
announces any other special awards, such as "On a
Roll", that may have been awarded for that week.
