Western Branch High School DECA sponsored the third annual Cancer Awareness Week October 26-30, 2015. Each day of the week was represented by a color that signifies the various forms of cancer. Announcements were made each morning explaining the forms of cancer and students throughout the school wore the corresponding colors. Posters and signs were posted throughout the school. The Bruin Exchange, the school store run by DECA, also sold pink tshirts and spirit times (pompoms, tattoos, bracelets, spirit beads) throughout the week and at the Friday night football game. The PinkOut game was a huge success raising over $2000 that will be donated to Relay for Life.

DECA members also hosted a fundraiser for Ellie's Hats. Ellie's hats is a non profit that provides hats for children with cancer. With donations from the student body, DECA raised $315 and was able to purchase 44 hats. These hats are being donated to Portsmouth Naval Hospital's children oncology department.
