The Media Center has a new lounge area this year, featuring a sofa and two
chairs upholstered in a book-themed tapestry fabric; a coffee table, lamp table
and reading lamp. The new lounge is located in the back of the library and is
designated as a silent reading area. Money for the new furnishings came from
the profits of last spring's Book Fair and from a generous donation from the
PTSA. Many thanks to all those who helped make the Book Fair a great success.
We made over $700 in profits.
The media specialists were surprised and happy to learn recently that the WBHS Media Center has been chosen for a Literacy Grant given by the Wal-Mart Corporation. Ms. Gallagher and Mrs. Howell were presented with a check for $1000 at the Taylor Road Wal-Mart on September 20. The money will be used to buy books for the library in areas of greatest need.
