Dr. Robert Hitt traveled through Africa to view a total solar eclipse.  Dr. Hitt's journey included visits to Kenya, Tanzania, and the eastern coast of South Africa to Cape Town.  The total solar eclipse occurred on December 4, 2002.

I enjoyed my trip to Africa.  Included in these pages are pictures of the trip and information about Africa. I'm working on a video of the eclipse to share in the near future. I was able to view the total solar eclipse in the South Pacific on April 8th, 2005 and the total eclipse that occurred on March 29, 2006. Check out the photos of these eclipses on this web site.

  The next total solar eclipse will occur on August 1, 2008. I will plan on going to Mongolia to video the event.
