The earth's moon is only 239,000 miles away.  We landed astronauts on the moon six times and collected over 836 pounds of rocks.

We think the moon is about the same age as the earth, which is 4.3 billion years.

The moon offers a wonderful view with binoculars or a telescope. You can see thousands of craters.  These craters were caused by meteorites hitting the moon.

You can see the craters on the moon when the sunlight angle is low and the shadows make the craters visible.  Some of these craters are 60 miles across.
