Out of 647 vendors on our bidder's list, 325 are minorities. Out of several thousand vendors that we have done business with, 421 have been minorities.

Over the last ten years, Chesapeake Public Schools has averaged purchasing nearly a million dollars in goods and services from minority vendors annually.

The Chesapeake Public Schools has established a Minority Business Enterprise program for the purpose of providing equal opportunities to all minority vendors. It is our goal to promote fair and equal competition to all interested parties.

It is the mission of the MBE program to expand the minority vendor base and promote through education, workshop, training, etc. how to do business with the school system. All actions are intended to increase minority business participation through transactions and contracts with the school system.
