Why can't I hear the live radio?

 

  • A message pops-up asking "Are you still listening to WFOS?".

    • In an effort to conserve bandwidth resources we ask that you click yes and let us know you are still listening.  This message will appear every four hours of listening to WFOS.

  • The computer's audio mixer or speakers are muted or set to a low volume.

    • Check the volume on the computer speakers and verify the volume in the computer by double clicking the speaker icon located on the lower right hand area of the screen.  Ensure that the "master volume" and "wave" volume are not muted or set too low.

  • You are using Machintosh

    • To enjoy streaming audio on a Machintosh (MAC) computer it must be running the latest Windows Media Player available for your operating system.  

  • The preferred browser is not being used.

    • Users of Netscape, Mozilla, or Opera should hear the live audio stream.  If audio is not heard try listening to the audio stream via Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater.

  • The computer's Windows Media Player is not up to date and needs updated.

    • Click the following link to download the latest version of Windows Media player from Microsoft.  Download Now.

  • There is an Internet outage.

    • There may be an Internet outage currently affecting your ability to listen to the steaming audio.  Technicians are working quickly to resolve this issue.
