The Chesapeake Public Schools Energy Program Office serves as the primary contact in matters of utility energy usage for the school district.
*
We record, monitor, and analyze utility data for the support buildings and schools within the district.
* We provide recommendations that address changes to effect more efficient utility usage for those buildings and schools.
* We provide support to the schools by facilitating energy education.
Teacher sponsors, using energy curriculum materials provided by the Energy Program Office, accomplish energy education in the classroom that results in behavior modification by the students and staff in the usage of utility energy by the schools.
Our office serves as the in-house energy auditor by identifying equipment, systems, and conditions within the schools and buildings that contribute to inefficient energy usage.
Our office also reviews plans for new construction projects and major renovations/additions to maximize the use of utility energy.
