The Virginia History and Social Science Standards of Learning are tested at grades 3, 5,
6, 7 and 8. These tests cover
the following areas.
The elementary school curriculum has
two SOL tests.

Localities may configure their scope and sequence by local decision in the division. Chesapeake has chosen to
configure the history and social science instruction to the timing of the test.
