Recycling Education Award

Chesapeake Public School's Recycling Education program is the 2012 recipient of the Chesapeake Environmental Improvement Council's Education Award. The award is the result of the hard work of staffs and students as stewards of the environment in the 57 buildings of Chesapeake Public Schools. The award was presented to Mr. Samuel W. Warren, Jr., Supervisor of Custodial Services, by Dr. Allan Vaughan, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.

Mission - Chesapeake Public Schools is committed to saving the environment by recycling, reducing and reusing refuse materials. The students and staff will educate our school community in the proper procedures and practices of recycling and enable our school division to become good stewards of our environment.

Chesapeake Public Schools' division-wide recycling program is now in operation.

The following are examples of items that should be disposed of in the blue recycle bins provided to schools and departments:
