The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP (formerly known as “Food Stamps”) provides eligible households with food benefits.
Students in households that receive SNAP are also eligible for meals at no cost at school. Students who have access to SNAP are more likely to be in good health and miss less school. The Virginia Board of Education will be in Chesapeake Wednesday, December 13 as an opportunity for Virginians to learn more about new accountability measurements and discuss their expectations for the upcoming accountability measurements.

Chittum is hosting our annual Toy Drive starting Monday, December 11th through Friday, December 15th. We will be accepting new unwrapped toys to help children in need during this holiday season. Please place all donations on the stage near the tree. 🐻💚❤️

Our school is collecting new adult socks to help support Service Members and Veterans. Donations will be collected now through December 21st. The collection boxes are located on the learning stairs. Our kindergarteners were programmers today during a lesson with Mrs. Johnson. They used Code & Go Robot Mice to retell the book Little Boo by Stephen Wunderli. Our kindergarteners are natural coders! ⬆️➡️🐁💙💛



Our Food Drive has been so successful! Thank you so much for the donations that we have received so far. We still have one more week to gather donations! Remember all food must be nonperishable and unexpired. We are also collecting personal hygiene products and baby items. 🧡🐻
