WBHS Prom 2026 Information

Event Details

Theme: Casino Royale
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026
Time: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Location: Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia


Eligibility Requirements

  • Students must take care of all financial obligations with the school prior to receiving tickets. Financial obligations include IT (Chromebook) invoices, chef jackets, parking fines, textbook fines, library fines, and senior dues.

  • A list of students with outstanding financial obligations will be available in the cafeteria during ticket distribution on 4/12, 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, and 5/13. 

  • Students may also check with Mrs. Drew in the main office, in advance, to see if they have any obligations.

  • All financial obligations can be paid on the school website under menu/parent/online school payments or by cash/check with Mrs. Drew in the main office.


Permission Forms

  • A completed permission form is required before registering for prom.

  • Forms are available:

    • Main Office

    • Guidance Office

    • Library

    • Online

  • Each junior and senior must complete their own form.

  • Guest information must be included on the student’s form.


Guest Information

  • Guests must be under 21 years old.

  • All guests must be listed on the permission form.

  • Non-WBHS guests must have the form signed by one of the following:

    • Employer

    • Clergyman

    • School official


Tickets - Go on sale April 1st

  • Cost: $100 per ticket

  • Tickets must be purchased online through the WBHS Online School Payment System

  • All sales are non-refundable

  • Tickets must be purchased before turning in the permission form


Ticket Pickup & Permission Slip Submission

Location: Cafeteria (during all lunch periods)
Dates: April 15, April 22, April 29
Late Sign-Ups: May 6, May 13
Important Deadlines: Late fee after May 1: +$25 (total $125), Ticket sales end: May 13 at 9:00 AM


Important Rules

  • School ID required for CPS students

  • Photo ID required for non-CPS guests

  • Formal attire required:

    • Tuxedo or suit and tie

    • Dressy short or long dress (not overly revealing)

    • Appropriate footwear

  • No smoking or alcohol

  • All school rules must be followed

  • No leaving and re-entering the event


Behavior Expectations

All students and guests must follow Chesapeake Public Schools and WBHS policies.
Failure to follow rules may result in:

  • Immediate removal from prom

  • Parent notification

  • Possible school disciplinary action

Important:

  • Anyone removed from prom will not be allowed to return

  • Students may only exit and re-enter if accompanied by a security officer or administrator
