Professional & Organizational Development

The Department of Professional and Organizational Development is committed to serving and supporting all district personnel with meaningful, ongoing, and relevant learning opportunities that meet the needs of our employees and the goals of our district.

Professional Development

The Department of Professional and Organizational Development is committed to creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement for all employees by offering a range of professional learning opportunities tailored to meet the various needs of employees within the district. The department addresses the unique needs of teachers, administrators, and support staff through targeted workshops, courses, conferences, training sessions, mentoring, and leadership programs.

The department strives to offer training on topics that enhance leadership skills and job performance. PD opportunities encourage our educators to examine effective approaches and strategies in curriculum and instruction, and promote practices that foster positive, collaborative learning environments for all students. Our custom-designed seminars are structured to provide relevant information, to engage participants in problem-solving activities, and to promote collaboration.

Organizational Development

The Department of Professional and Organizational Development prioritizes organizational development and offers customized support and programs that foster continuous learning in individuals and teams. These experiences align with the district’s strategic goals and reflect a commitment to building a community in which all staff feel respected, included, and able to participate to their fullest potential.

History

The Department of Staff Development was formed in 1996 to address the goal of strengthening staff training - one of the school district’s original seven strategic goals. Now known as the Department of Professional and Organizational Development (POD), the department’s primary goal is still aligned with our district strategic goals - specifically goal 2 - to recruit, retain, and support our valued employees. While our goals remain consistent, our services have broadened the range of employees it serves and have enhanced the opportunities provided to all employees.
