High school students will take fall semester Standards of Learning (SOL) tests between January 2 - 24, 2024. A testing schedule is available below. All SOL tests are administered in a secure testing environment and must be taken in school. Chesapeake Virtual Academy students will take their assessments in their home (zoned) school; teachers will notify them of the date and location of testing. Students should bring their CPS-issued Chromebook, in good working order and fully charged, to school on all testing days.
You will be able to review your child’s Student Detail by Question (SDBQ) report for each test completed during this cycle through the Virginia Assessment Parent Portal. Parent portal claim codes will be uploaded to your Synergy ParentVUE documents folder by January 19, 2024. Students who participated in the fall Writing SOLs, will have their Student Performance by Question (SPBQ) report uploaded to the ParentVUE by this same date.
Students should bring their CPS-issued Chromebook, in good working order and fully charged, to school on all testing days.

End of Course SOL Testing Schedule
Each high school will follow a special testing schedule that includes a series of virtual learning days. During the four scheduled SOL testing days (January 11, 12, 18, and 19), students scheduled to take an SOL must report to school for testing and all other students are expected to participate in virtual learning at their home.
Teachers will notify students of any required SOL testing. Teachers and school counselors will clarify expectations via PAS and/or email.

Additional Notes about SOL Testing Day Schedule
All Chesapeake Career Center (CCC) classes will be virtual on SOL testing dates.
TCC students will attend their TCC courses on the appropriate dates and at the appropriate times.
EMT, mechatronics, Precision Machining, and electrical students will ride the normal CCC bus from school and will be shuttled to TCC on January 11 and 18.
In addition to the four SOL testing dates listed above, additional review sessions and testing (makeup and expedited retakes) may be offered during the remainder of the testing window, January 15-24, 2023.
Culminating Assessment Schedule
High school students enrolled in fall semester courses will complete culminating assessments on January 23-25, 2024. Culminating assessments are designed by each teacher and may include performance-based assessments, projects, presentations, and/or more traditional exams. Please review these important attendance and culminating assessment policies.
Please note: Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) will not hold classes on January 22, 2024. On January 25, 26, and January 29, there will be no transportation to GSA and CPS students are not required to attend.
