Community Input Invited for K-12 Textbook Adoption

Chesapeake Public Schools is committed to providing our students with high-quality instructional materials that foster academic excellence. As part of this commitment, the Division of Teaching and Learning is conducting another textbook adoption process! This textbook adoption focuses on new resources supporting Advanced Placement Biology (AP Bio), Advanced Placement (AP) Physics 1 and 2, and AP Environmental Science. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to participate in this opportunity to review the proposed instructional materials and provide feedback.

Virtual Review and Feedback

The AP Science textbook adoption process will be conducted completely online - no physical copies of the proposed textbooks are available for public examination. After reviewing the digital textbook resources, please share your thoughts by submitting the online feedback forms now through June 5, 2026.

Update on Our Previous Textbook Adoption

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent K-12 Math and 6-12 ELA textbook review process. Community feedback collected during that campaign, along with the district's next steps, were formally presented and discussed at the May 4, 2026, School Board Meeting.
