As Chesapeake Public Schools prepares to open our brand-new elementary school at 650 Horse Camp Lane in the fall of 2027, the Chesapeake School Board invites community members to take an active role in the naming of our new school!
Following a wonderful start to the school year centered on foundational planning, work is officially underway to establish a strong, vibrant identity for the school. The next big step is selecting an official school name —and your voice is vital. Whether you are a student, parent, staff member, alumnus, or concerned citizen, all community members are welcome and encouraged to participate.

The process to select a name for the new elementary school aligns with School Board Policy 3-05, which outlines the procedures for naming schools and incorporating community input. The policy requires our schools to be named according to their geographic location.
