Learning + fun = the perfect combination! 🎲✏️ Some of our 3rd graders put their multiplication skills to the test by creating and playing their own multiplication games! They showed creativity, teamwork, and growing confidence with math facts. Hands-on learning makes math memorable, and we’re so proud of their hard work and excitement!

We are so proud of these incredible interns from Oscar Smith High School who serve at BMW! Out of more than 70 applicants, these young ladies were among the select few chosen to receive guaranteed teaching contracts with Chesapeake Public Schools upon graduating from college. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for education truly stood out, and this achievement is so well deserved. The future is bright, and Chesapeake Public Schools is lucky to already have such amazing future educators joining the team! Congratulations — we can’t wait to see all you accomplish! 🎉🍎

Last Thursday, we gathered for our district retirement ceremony to celebrate the “Noteworthy Impact” our 2026 retirees have made across Chesapeake Public Schools. 💙✨

Together, we honored 166 dedicated employees whose service, leadership, and compassion have helped shape the lives of students, staff, families, and our entire community. Our 1st graders had an amazing day exploring Paradise Creek Nature Park! 🌿☀️ Students enjoyed a hands-on learning experience as they walked the trails, observed local wildlife, and discovered the beauty of nature all around them. From spotting birds to learning about plants and ecosystems, curiosity was in full bloom!

🎨✨ Meet the Artist Behind Our Yearbook Cover! ✨🎨 We are so proud to spotlight Mina Patterson, a talented 4th grader at BM Williams Elementary, as the illustrator of this year’s yearbook cover! 🖍️ Age: 9 🏫 School: BM Williams Elementary 💛 Hobbies: Spending time with family, going to the beach, and traveling to Hawaii Mina shared that her inspiration for the cover came from thinking outside the box, challenging herself to create something different from her usual style—and it certainly paid off! When asked about her future, Mina dreams of becoming a singer 🎤 Way to go, Mina! Your creativity and courage to try something new truly shine through your work. We can’t wait for everyone to see your amazing design! 💫

Yesterday, our 4th graders had an unforgettable experience attending the Virginia International Tattoo! 🇺🇸 Students were amazed by the incredible performances, from powerful military bands to cultural displays from around the world. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about tradition, service, and global connections in such an exciting and meaningful way. We’re so proud of how respectfully and enthusiastically our students represented our school—what a memorable day for everyone!
