Last Thursday, we gathered for our district retirement ceremony to celebrate the “Noteworthy Impact” our 2026 retirees have made across Chesapeake Public Schools. 💙✨
Together, we honored 166 dedicated employees whose service, leadership, and compassion have helped shape the lives of students, staff, families, and our entire community. The spring book fair is coming soon! Students will be able to shop during their library time from May 7-15 or you can shop during the Art Show on May 11th from 4-6pm. This week is Assistant Principals Week, a time to recognize the incredible leaders who support our students, staff, and schools. We are so grateful for our amazing AP, Mrs. Davis-Mitchell! Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to our students and staff continues to shape our school and we are so thankful for all she brings to our school family.
We also want to recognize our outstanding administrative specialist, Ms.Edwards-Roberson for the many ways she helps make Chittum such a great place. Her hard work, dedication, and support are truly appreciated. She has been such a wonderful addition to our Chittum family!
We also can't go without recognizing the incredible, Mrs. Lopez! We are thankful for the way she stepped in to support our school with leadership, encouragement, and care.

APRIL 14- Superhero Day
Dress like a superhero or wear a superhero shirt!
Military children are everyday heroes, showing courage, flexibility, and strength.
APRIL 15- Purple Up! Day
Wear purple to show support for military children.
Purple represents all branches of the military combined. Let’s fill the school with purple!
APRIL 16- Hats Off to Military Kids Day
Wear your favorite hat to honor the strength and resilience of military children!
“Hats off” is a way of showing respect and appreciation.
