The Penguin Patch allows students to shop during school hours for loved ones and friends for the holidays. Once students finish their shopping, our dedicated volunteers carefully wrap the gifts for students to take home.
Items are available at a variety of price points, ranging from $0.25 to around $15. 🛍️
💲 Payment Information: Cash or check (made payable to DCE PTA) will only be accepted.
Teachers will communicate with families about their class shopping day. Be on the lookout for more info from your child's teacher.

Monday 12/8 – Pixel Day
Wear red, green, and blue—the primary colors of light used in screens, cameras, and scanners—or wear polka dots to represent pixels!
Tuesday 12/9 – 404: Error Day
Oh no! There’s a glitch in your program! Wear mismatched clothes to represent programming errors.
Wednesday 12/10 – Digital Footprint Day
Have fun with your footwear by wearing your wackiest socks and favorite shoes.
Thursday 12/11 – Protect Your Identity Day
Stay safe online! Wear camouflage to blend in and “hide” your identity.
Friday 12/12 – Code.org Day
Wear a shirt with your favorite Code.org or video game character (Angry Birds, Minecraft, Frozen, Mario, etc.).

The PTA will host the Scholastic Book Fair 📚 from November 14–21. Families are encouraged to join us for Parent Night this Thursday, November 13, from 5:00–7:00 PM. This evening event provides a wonderful chance to browse books and support our school. See you there!
This week, Mrs. Nash’s 4th graders became cloud experts! ☁️ They took their learning outside each day to observe the clouds, identify their types, and talk about how clouds can help us predict the weather. They also completed a cloud-making science experiment. #LaunchintoLearning
