School attendance is an important factor in a student's academic success.
Student Attendance Requirements are outlined in the district student handbook. The CPS Attendance Waiver Request Form is available for students who are at risk of losing credit as a result of having 10 absences or more in a semester-long class.
Attendance Waiver Requirements
In order to be considered for the attendance waiver, a student must
apply through the waiver form
have a passing grade in the course
underclassmen submit the waiver form by June 13, 2025.
If a student does not submit the attendance waiver to provide documentation of their extenuating circumstances, the student will fail the course due to attendance. In the form, there is a place to upload the necessary documentation if you have not already provided it via ParentVue or the attendance office.
