Hey rising 6th graders! The countdown to middle school is officially on, and we are getting ready to welcome you to Deep Creek Middle School in the best way possible.

What is Purple Palooza? 🤔

It is our legendary, fun-filled orientation day designed just for our incoming 6th graders. This is our 6th year hosting this event, and trust us—it’s a staple here at DCM. Our current 7th and 8th graders still talk about how much fun they had at their Purple Palooza!

It’s the perfect, stress-free way to get to know your new school, meet some amazing staff, and make new friends before the official first day of school.

What’s in It for You? 🎒

We have an awesome morning packed with activities on the 6th-grade hallway. Here is a sneak peek of what you’ll get to do:

Conquer the Lockers: Practice opening combination locks so you can breeze through the hallways like a pro on day one.
Explore the School: Take a tour and participate in an epic school-wide Scavenger Hunt so you know exactly where your classes are.
Meet the Crew: Hang out with your 6th-grade teachers, PE teachers, and elective teachers. It’s a great chance to see some familiar faces before everyone else arrives.
Fun Previews: Jump into some awesome, hands-on activities for English, Math, Science, and SEL (Social-Emotional Learning).
Free Food: Did someone say free lunch? We are treating you to a morning breakfast snack and a pizza party! 🍕
