Huge thank you to the teams from the Great Bridge Battlefield Waterways Museum and Parks for spending the week with our 7th graders. Our students got a front-row seat to the stories that shaped Virginia, and we couldn’t be more grateful for these local experts.

This morning, our amazing Admin team pulled off a total surprise "We Appreciate You" pancake breakfast! There is nothing like the smell of fresh pancakes in the hallway to make us feel like a family.
A huge thank you to our leadership for filling our plates and our hearts before the first bell rang.
Our students took "get comfortable with a book" literally today! We’re celebrating Reading Month by trading school clothes for pajamas and diving into some incredible stories.
Huge shoutout to our 7th/8th Combined Chorus and 8th Grade Ensemble for earning top marks in both performance and sight reading today. They didn't just hit the notes—they crushed them! 🎶✨

Today was Toe-riffic Thursday for Reading Month, and the sock game was on another level. From fuzzy favorites to wild patterns, our students showed off their unique styles while diving into their favorite books.
Today’s Reading Month theme is "Reading Jogs the Mind," and our hallways look like a championship finish line. From jerseys to joggers, our students are proof that training your brain is just as important as training for the game.
We loved seeing so many personalities shine through for Hat Day. Whether they were rocking a vintage look or a fan-favorite team cap, our students reminded us that reading is always in style.
Middle school is better when we’re celebrating together. Stay tuned for the rest of our Spirit Week fun!
She’s now a finalist for CS Educator of the Year! We are so proud to have her inspiring our students every day in Chesapeake. 💻✨ #CSChampion #MiddleSchoolExcellence

Huge congratulations to Pari Wahi, Juan Arana Chinchilla, and Della Crabtree for winning our Black History Month Essay & Artwork contest! Their creativity and insight blew us away.
As a reward, these three talented students will be decorating their very own ceiling tiles. Their work will stay right here in our halls for years to come, inspiring future generations!

We had an amazing day at our 4th Annual Teen Summit this past Saturday at Indian River High School! 🙌 We were honored to hear from former James Madison University All-Conference Running Back Dr. Eugene Holloman, who inspired students with a powerful message about perseverance and purpose. From mental health and money management to athletics, college prep, and stress management, our teens gained tools for success now and in the future. Thank you to our Department of Family & Community Engagement for organizing the event, and to our presenters, volunteers, and community members who made it such a success!

We care a whole lot about reading here! 📖 Today our halls are filled with Dr. Seuss shirts and open books as we kick off a full month of reading challenges and Core Plus adventures.
Inspiring speakers 🗣️
Powerful performances by Band, Orchestra, & Chorus 🎶
High-energy rhythm from the Step Team 👟
