From being an innovative Modern Classroom Project teacher and coach 💻 to mentoring so many of our students and staff, she is always the first to offer a helping hand. We are so lucky to have her energy in our halls!

To show our appreciation for everything they pour into our students, we treated the team to a custom soda mixing station this afternoon. It was the perfect mid-day pick-me-up!
Huge shoutout to our amazing volunteer, Mrs. Jen Mendoza, for stepping up and serving up these sweet treats with a smile. We couldn't do it without our community!

Our staff and teachers took a moment to pause and reflect on why they are grateful for one another. Each feather represents a teammate, a mentor, or a friend who makes our school a better place to learn and grow.
We believe that to teach gratitude to our students, we have to model it ourselves. We are so thankful for this incredible team!

The battle for the Spirit Stick was fierce, but the 7th graders came out on top in our Cereal Drive, collecting 54 boxes! Together, Deep Creek Middle collected 125 boxes total to help our neighbors. ❤️
The prize? Bragging rights, the Spirit Stick, and... Dr. Page wobbling through the cafeteria as a turkey! 🦃😂 Thank you to every family who donated. We love our community!

We wrapped up our Military Family Spirit Week in style today. Our Hornets showed up in Red, White, and Blue to celebrate the courage and commitment of our military community.
From wearing yellow, to meeting mentors, to today’s patriotic finale—this week has been a powerful reminder of how much we appreciate our service members and their families.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us turn our hallways into a celebration of service! Have a great weekend, Hornets! 🐝

We saw RED in the hallways today—in the best way possible! 🔴🇺🇸
Our Hornets showed up in red to demonstrate our unwavering support for our military families. But today, we didn’t just wear the colors; we connected with the community.
We hosted a special luncheon where active duty service members and veterans sat down with students for real conversations. It was a true mentorship session where students asked about:
✨ The reality of military life & joining up
✨ Career paths in the service
✨ What it really means to serve
Thank you to our guests for answering questions and mentoring the next generation. Seeing our school covered in red while these conversations happened was a powerful reminder of how strong this community is.

These students have demonstrated excellence in Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character, and Citizenship—the core pillars of NJHS. It was inspiring to celebrate their dedication alongside their proud families and our dedicated staff.
Congratulations to every inductee! We can't wait to see the positive impact you'll make on our school and community.

Our Hornets showed up in Camo, Red, Blue, and Green today to represent the different military branches.
It is awesome to see our hallways filled with so much color and support during Military Family Month. Way to go, Hornets!

Please join us in celebrating the amazing Mrs. Heine, who has been named Literacy Teacher of the Year! 🥳
Whether she's sparking a love of reading in her 7th grade classroom or leading our entire English Department, Mrs. Heine's passion for literacy is unmatched. She works tirelessly to help students find their voice and explore new worlds through books.
Our school community is so lucky to have her. Congratulations, Mrs. Heine! 👏

Next week (11/17-11/21) is Month of the Military Family Spirit Week, and we are so excited to honor and celebrate the incredible military families in our [School Name] community! ❤️
Here’s the lineup so you can plan your outfits:
MONDAY 11/17: Wear Yellow 💛 (To support our troops)
TUESDAY 11/18: Service Branch Color Day 🟢🔴🔵 (Wear camo, red, green, or blue!)
WEDNESDAY 11/19: Wear Purple 💜 (To honor all military kids)
THURSDAY 11/20: Wear Red ❤️ (To Remember Everyone Deployed)
FRIDAY 11/21: Proud to be an American! 🇺🇸 (Wear your red, white, & blue!)
We can't wait to see your spirit! ✨

Once a week, we hit pause on our regular bells for something special... we call it Creek Day!
So, what is it? Creek Day is our all-school club period. Most of the student body breaks out to explore their passions, learn new skills, and connect with friends who share their interests. It’s a huge part of how we build community.

The upcoming holiday season is filled with excitement, but it can also be a time when some of our families need a little extra support. 💛 🎙 In our newest episode of Amplified, we sit down with Lisa Kerry, one of our Family & Community Engagement (FACE) specialists and Nischelle Buffalow from Buffalow Family and Friends to talk about partnership, compassion, and how our community works together to make sure no one feels alone this season. 🎧 Hear the stories, learn how to access support, and discover ways to get involved at cpschools.com/amplified or wherever you get your podcasts. #EmpowerCPS #CPSCelebrates
