The Grow Our Own Summer Internship Program is back, continuing its commitment to developing our students! This unique opportunity, offered by our Department of College and Career Readiness, provides students with hands-on experience and skill development through internships within our own district offices and buildings. We are proud to offer this annual program, allowing students to gain real-world insights and contribute to our community through a paid 40-hour internship this summer!
Who is eligible to apply?
Rising juniors and seniors (16 years old by June 1, 2026) currently enrolled in Chesapeake Public Schools.
Where are the internship opportunities?
Students will complete their internship in one of our school district’s many departments including (but not limited to) School Nutrition Services, Technology and Innovation, Communications, and more. Program coordinators will place students in their work assignments after assessing student applications.
How do interested students apply?
Applications open Monday, March 23, 2026! Completed online applications are due Friday, April 3, 2026. Eligible students must access and submit the application through Major Clarity. Full details on how to apply are available in the Grow Our Own Fact Sheet.
