Today we held off our annual Service Rally! 💚 Students had the opportunity to learn about the powerful story behind Laps for Lymphoma and why this event means so much to our school community. We were honored to hear from our guest speaker, Mr. Cade Stevenson, a teacher at Hugo Owens Middle School, who shared his personal journey after being diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 12. His story was a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the impact we can make when we come together for a cause.
We also heard from five different clubs who will each be sponsoring a day during Service Week (March 23–27), giving students many opportunities to give back and support others in our community. The week will culminate with Laps for Lymphoma on March 28!
Be sure to register using the link on GoFan and join us as we make a difference together.

We had an amazing day at our 4th Annual Teen Summit this past Saturday at Indian River High School! 🙌 We were honored to hear from former James Madison University All-Conference Running Back Dr. Eugene Holloman, who inspired students with a powerful message about perseverance and purpose. From mental health and money management to athletics, college prep, and stress management, our teens gained tools for success now and in the future. Thank you to our Department of Family & Community Engagement for organizing the event, and to our presenters, volunteers, and community members who made it such a success!

Tonight the Class of 2027 stepped onto the red carpet and into the spotlight for a Hollywood-themed Ring Dance! ⭐

This Black History Month, students took learning beyond the classroom and into the kitchen! 🧑🏾🍳✨
Students learned how to make the original mac and cheese recipe inspired by James Hemings, trained chef who introduced macaroni and cheese to America after studying culinary arts in France.
Hemings’ influence on American cuisine is still felt today, and this hands-on experience gave students a chance to connect history, culture, and creativity in a delicious way.
Celebrating Black history means honoring contributions in every space, including the kitchen. 🖤

Our halls were filled with creativity, culture, and pride as students and staff decorated doors in celebration of Black History Month! Each door told a story honoring influential leaders, highlighting powerful voices & celebrating the impact on past and present of Black culture.

On Friday, we were proud to welcome representatives from Norfolk Naval Shipyard to the Den! Our students had the opportunity to connect one-on-one with industry professionals, gaining valuable insight and firsthand knowledge to help guide their future career pathways. Thank you for investing in our students and their futures!
