Ms. Alexis Brueggeman has been selected as the Chesapeake Public Schools Elementary Teacher of the Year. Alexis is a phenomenal 4th-grade teacher at Hickory Elementary. An Old Dominion University graduate, Alexis has dedicated the past nine years to inspiring students and bringing learning to life through creativity, innovation, and technology integration. Known as a “memory maker and confidence planter,” she nurtures self-confidence in every student while making lessons engaging and meaningful. Alexis is also a collaborative leader, serving as grade-level chairperson, social studies point of contact, and a mentor to her colleagues. Her dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to student success make her an outstanding educator and a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
