We invite all families in our district and citizens of Chesapeake to participate in one of our upcoming School Safety Forums! The School Safety Forums will be hosted by the School Safety Taskforce who will provide a brief update on school safety policies and procedures in our schools. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer (Q&A) session for those in attendance. The Q&A session is an opportunity for the public to engage directly with the School Safety Taskforce.

This public forum is the first forum in a series of two public sessions. Each session has the same agenda.

What Is The School Safety Taskforce?

The School Safety Taskforce (SSTF) was formed in 2018 to address school safety issues, evaluate school safety protocols and practices, and determine additional measures that should be implemented throughout the school division to ensure the safety of students and staff.  The taskforce meets regularly to  review, enhance, and monitor our safety procedures.  Recommendations made by the taskforce will guide current emergency practices and any future safety initiatives that will be implemented in our division.

Who Serves On The School Safety Taskforce?

The Taskforce includes city leaders and council members, fire and emergency management, city police, sheriff's office, and school district leaders.
