Holiday Character Day at Southeastern Elementary was full of festive cheer!


The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP (formerly known as “Food Stamps”) provides eligible households with food benefits.
Students in households that receive SNAP are also eligible for meals at no cost at school. Students who have access to SNAP are more likely to be in good health and miss less school. Ms. Tayloe's class learned about collecting and graphing data with this Mustache Graphing Activity. The kids got to wear mustache's while they asked questions, collected data and graphed the data.

SEE Spirit Night is Wednesday, 12/13 at Los Primos Hanbury from 4-9PM. Mention you are there to support Southeastern Elementary for a portion of your meal to go back to the school.

Southeastern Ugly Sweater Day was full of cheer for our staff and students. Mrs. Fogarty was dressed head to toe in her Christmas finest!

The Virginia Board of Education will be in Chesapeake Wednesday, December 13 as an opportunity for Virginians to learn more about new accountability measurements and discuss their expectations for the upcoming accountability measurements.

The Hour of Code is a global initiative to support Computer Science Education Week and introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming. All students (PreK-12) can participate!

Students created an algorithm to get their mouse to the cheese. After a few attempts and debugging they were successful!

Computer Science Week started today. Students used critical thinking skills to test our their programs, debug, and create a new algorithm with Spheros.

A proud Hickory High School alum, Morgan brings 20 years of teaching expertise, with 15 dedicated to Chesapeake. 📚 As a kindergarten teacher at Southeastern Elementary, her impact is immeasurable. 🦅
🎓 Graduating from Barton College with a dual major in Elementary Education and Deaf Education, Morgan believes every child can achieve greatness, regardless of differences. In her classroom, Morgan creates spur-of-the-moment activities, makes real-life connections, and is always present for her students.
Morgan was previously Reading Teacher of the Year and also wears many hats at SEE such as Social Studies Chair, Grade Level Chair, Child Study Chair, and ESTAT Committee Chair just to name a few. 👒
Morgan is inspired by her daughter, and outside the classroom, she enjoys beach days, shopping, and playtime with her two dogs. 🐾 🏖️ Let’s hear it for Morgan, an exceptional educator and well-deserved Teacher of the Year Finalist! 🏆👏
