Chromebooks are to be distributed by the Help Desk on J-Hall. Please use the main entrance of the building upon arrival and follow the Instructional signs.. If a student has a Chromebook, either from summer school or one they did not return at the end of the 24-25 SY, they will need to return that Chromebook to the Help Desk BEFORE equipment checkout. All older model Chromebooks will be disabled on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 2nd. All students must have a CPS-issued Chromebook to complete schoolwork. The use of personal devices to complete assignments will not be permitted.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT DISTRIBUTION

• IT Equipment WILL NOT be issued if you are unable to verify student information

• Please form a single-file line on the left side of the Chromebook checkout table. 

• Have the student's ID number ready to enter on the keypad  

• If you do not have the student’s ID number, please go to the Guidance Office for a printout of the student's schedule

*Please have the student perform a thorough inspection of their IT equipment. Notify the Help Desk Tech, Ms. Wilson,  IMMEDIATELY of a damaged, defaced, lost, or stolen device or accessory. An assessment of the circumstances and evaluation of the equipment (if available) will be made by the Help Desk Technician.

IF YOU STILL HAVE A CHROMEBOOK ISSUED TO YOU

• Have your Chromebook charged BEFORE you return it 

• Clean out your Chromebook cases (e.g., pens, papers, pet hair, etc.)

• Remove all personal stickers from the Chromebook and wipe down with a dry cloth

  • Please DO NOT use an alcohol-based OR ammonia cleaners

*Students will not be issued a newer model Chromebook unless they have returned equipment checked out from the previous school year or used for summer school. All older model Chromebooks will be disabled on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 2nd.
