Dr. Christopher Fischer has been selected as Chesapeake Public Schools High School Teacher of the Year. Dr. Fischer teaches AP Government and Politics at Western Branch High School. With 30 years of teaching experience and a PhD in Education from Old Dominion University, Dr. Fischer inspires students to explore government, philosophy, history, and civic engagement through thought-provoking discussions and hands-on learning. Known for building authentic relationships, he empowers students to think critically, voice their opinions, and embrace challenges. Beyond the classroom, he serves as Youth in Government sponsor, boys tennis coach, and mentor, enriching the Bruins community through countless extracurricular activities.
