Last Thursday, we gathered for our district retirement ceremony to celebrate the “Noteworthy Impact” our 2026 retirees have made across Chesapeake Public Schools. 💙✨

Together, we honored 166 dedicated employees whose service, leadership, and compassion have helped shape the lives of students, staff, families, and our entire community. Together, they represent 3,499 collective years of commitment to public education and student success. #CPSCelebrates #EmpowerCPS

Our district is a constellation of amazing talent and heart. ✨ Take a look at this beautiful note sent in for Jake Yowell at Western Branch High:

“You are one of the best teachers in my 17 years of life. You make every lesson very engaging and fun, and I find myself excelling due to your method of teaching. I know I stress you out, but I hope you find as much joy teaching me as I do being your student. Keep being great.” - A Student

Some of our Bruins had the amazing opportunity to travel to Richmond as a part of the ASPIRE Leadership Program! This program is operated by the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office and is designed to foster leadership skills and mentor young women in our community.

On this trip, the students toured the Capital Building, attended the General Assembly, and were introduced on the Senate floor. They also toured the Governor’s mansion and participated in a question-and-answer session with State Senator Craig.

What a wonderful opportunity for our Bruins! Thank you to the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office and especially to Sergeant K. Matthews-Taylor!
