Today, at Deep Creek Central Elementary School, fifth-grader Gabriella Caraballo was presented with the national AAA Auto Club Enterprises Lifesaving Medal for her quick-thinking actions that prevented another student from injury during morning drop-off. 🎖 💜 Earlier this year, Gabriella used her training as part of the School Safety Patrol to save a classmate's life. 🦺 Safety Patrol Advisor and teacher Mr. Matthew Barker nominated her for this national award. Gabriella was one of only two students in the country to earn the prestigious medal and is the first in the Hampton Roads area since 1977! The award was established in 1949 by AAA to recognize Patrollers for heroic acts. #CPSCelebrates
