Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Chesapeake Public Schools will operate on an Asynchronous Remote Learning Day due to the Virginia Special Election.
Students will work independently from home. Teachers will be available online for support during the scheduled bell times.
High School Schedule for Grades 9 through 12
Bell 1: 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM
Bell 2: 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM
Bell 3: 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM
Lunch: 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM
Bell 4: 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM
1:1 Support: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Important Reminders for Students
Assignments: All work will be posted in Canvas by 8:30 AM.
Teacher Support: Google Meet links will be open during each bell.
Attendance: Attendance is recorded through the submission of work.
Tuesday, April 21 is an A-Day.
Students are encouraged to check Canvas, stay on task, and ask for help if needed.
Congratulations to Sydney Holbach for being named the Most Outstanding Female Athlete for Swim and Dive by the Chesapeake Sports Club! Sydney also will be receiving a $2000 scholarship from the Chesapeake Sports Club.

This event is open to all high school students and their families. Whether you’re just starting your search or narrowing down your top choices, this is the perfect opportunity to meet with college and university representatives from across Virginia and beyond.

31 DCHS Choral folks assisted with the Shamrock-n-Run in Virginia Beach this year. Students assisted with Dry Bags. DCHS Chamber singers also performed the National Anthem that morning for the kick-off of the race.
The Chamber Singers and the Varsity Singers received Superior ratings for their on-stage performances and sight-reading at the District Assessment.
Over Spring Break, members of the choir joined forces with Virginia Wesleyan Softball where they performed the National Anthem at the Strike Out Cancer event.
In addition, 5 students earned their way into the All-Virginia Chorus event that will be held later this week. Those students are:
