🏥 Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take an ultrasound or even participate in an anatomy lab? Sevaral our students were able to do just that by participating in the 2024 Health Sciences Academy at Eastern Virginia Medical School! 🥼 Our students were joined by students from Portsmouth Public Schools and Northhampton Schools in a 2-week exploratory program that allowed students to learn about the different health sciences occupations and careers. It provided a knowledge of career building and technical skills to understand how to be successful in this industry. Students received hands-on experience through pathology, anatomy, physiology lab work, and suturing, and even traveled to Old Dominion University to practice speech therapy, dental hygiene, nursing, and more! This is our second year participating and our students loved it! 🎉
