Students in households that receive SNAP are also eligible for meals at no cost at school. Students who have access to SNAP are more likely to be in good health and miss less school. Many households may not be aware they qualify. To learn more and to apply, visit https://www.dss.virginia.gov/benefit/snap.cgi

🍁🥫NHS and Lead4Change/STEM are sponsoring our annual Food Drive starting Monday, November 13 through Friday, November 17. We hope you and your students will support our local food pantries and those impacted by food insecurity in our community. Your donations will benefit the Buffalow Family & Friends food pantry and the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
We have several incentives to make this a fun and competitive event, all for a good cause!
Homeroom Competition:
1st Place = Chick Fil A (donated by the Grassfield Chick Fil A)
2nd & 3rd Place = Donuts (donated by a local 7-11 franchisee)
Quad Competition:
Winning Quad = Pajama Day 😴
The competition will be based on food/water items collected and cash donations.
1 can = 1 item
2 water bottles = 1 item
Each $1 donated = 2 items
Students who wish to donate cash instead of food/water items should use the QR code on the Food Drive flyer above. Students (or parents) will complete a short Google Form and submit their online payment directly to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia using the link in the form.
