Seeing the joy and curiosity on their faces is what it's all about. We are so grateful to our community heroes for taking the time to inspire our students and show us what Safety and Engagement look like in action! 🛡️🤝

🎶 Fine and Performance Arts Month Spotlight! 🎙 Our latest district podcast episode highlights the powerful impact of music education across our division. In “From First Note to Full Ensemble,” Supervisor of Music Orion Burke and Deep Creek Middle School chorus director Taylor Mercier share how Chesapeake’s K–12 music pathway helps students discover their voice, build confidence, and find a sense of belonging. From the first notes in elementary music class to full ensembles in middle and high school, this episode celebrates the teachers, opportunities, and experiences that help students grow as musicians and leaders. 🎙️ Listen to the episode at cpschools.com/amplified or wherever you get your podcasts!

Check out Ms. Roselle’s amazing students as they prepared for their big PTA performance last week! 🎶✨ These Braves were full of excitement and pride as they posed for a few group photos before taking the stage.

Our Reading Month celebrations reached a new high today with a very special visit from author Leland Clelland! 🌟 It was an extra special homecoming, as Mr. Clelland was once a teacher right here in Chesapeake.
He teamed up with another former teacher, Brook Archbell (illustrator), to create the inspiring book: I AM..Building a Positive Mindset for Kids! ✍️🎨
Our Braves loved listening to his story and were fascinated to learn about the journey of writing and publishing a book. 🏫💭 Thank you, Mr. Clelland, for empowering our students to dream big and think positively!
A huge "Brave" shout-out to Jhermany Blount, the lucky winner of our Book Blast treasure chest! 🏆🎁
Thank you to everyone in our community who participated and supported our mission to inspire a lifelong love of reading. Seeing our students excited about books is the ultimate prize! 💙📖
