Our 3rd graders delivered a fantastic musical performance last night, celebrating America with the theme "Stars, Stripes, and Songs!" What a patriotic show! 🦅
A big thank you to Mrs. Pollard for all her hard work in making this celebration a success! We are so proud of our young performers!

On Friday, Hickory Elementary School school hosted their annual Veterans Day parade to honor their military families! Students dressed in their red, white and blue to cheer on their military-connected classmates and the service members they were escorting. We thank all of our veterans for their service and we wish everyone a wonderful Veterans Day!

The upcoming holiday season is filled with excitement, but it can also be a time when some of our families need a little extra support. 💛 🎙 In our newest episode of Amplified, we sit down with Lisa Kerry, one of our Family & Community Engagement (FACE) specialists and Nischelle Buffalow from Buffalow Family and Friends to talk about partnership, compassion, and how our community works together to make sure no one feels alone this season. 🎧 Hear the stories, learn how to access support, and discover ways to get involved at cpschools.com/amplified or wherever you get your podcasts. #EmpowerCPS #CPSCelebrates

And you know what that means... time for a fun celebration! Huge shoutout to our incredible principals who totally embraced the spirit and rocked those inflatable costumes today!
We are so proud of everyone's hard work and generosity!

Our amazing first graders got their hands messy today, scooping out tons of pumpkin seeds. We then used those gooey seeds to practice place value! They learned to bundle the seeds into groups of ten and count the leftover seeds as ones.
It's a festive, hands-on way to make learning about numbers come to life!
