The students in Nutrition and Wellness went to Hickory Ridge Farm on Tuesday to pick strawberries to use for their recipes on Wednesday which included scones, muffins, fruit salad, and salad with the lettuce that they grew themselves!

We are excited to offer our first annual "Camo-Que" fundraising event in partnership with Hickory High School's activities for the Month of the Military Child (April)! This event will not only allow our families to pick up delicious BBQ dinners on Wednesday, April 30. It will also help raise funds for the Fallen Soldier Memorial at Hickory High and our Student 2 Student organization, which supports new military-connected students moving into the Hickory High School zone. Spanish 5 students in Sra. Whatley’s class had 15 minutes and access to limited tools to create their own masterpieces and then explained the process, motivation and purpose of their work. Think like the cooking show Chopped but with art. Then the Spanish 3 classes voted for their favorites!

Public Speaking enjoyed a week of engagement that began with practicing communication skills to complete a task while facing the opposite direction of a partner and ended with an awards ceremony that involved collaboration with four other HHS classes.
